Ditty is a WordPress news ticker plugin that provides a way for you to display your content in different ways. Your choices include a traditional news ticker, paged list, or slider. You can customize options such as the direction, spacing, speed, and styling for the ticker. Or the speed, direction, and design of the slider.
Any updates made to your displays will update without the need to refresh your browser. You can see the changes you make live as you edit them before committing to saving them. Mix and match content any way you want as the plugin allows you to put several content feeds into one display. T4B News Ticker creates a horizontal news ticker for your site. There are four different animations you can use: fade, slider, ticker, and scroll. Your ticker can be shown based on post categories or tags. The content can be ordered any way you want. Admins can even write custom text in the default post editor to add additional text. Settings allow you to control the scrolling speed of your ticker, the timing between fades, and change up its typography as well. These tickers may be inserted anywhere within your posts and pages through a shortcode. They can even be added by putting them within your theme files directly.

This plugin was first published by its creator in December of 2014. It is presently on version 1.4.5 and last saw an update on June 10th, 2026. The most recent release works on WordPress 7.0.4 and requires at least PHP 7.4 to run on your server. This plugin is currently functioning on over 7,000 WordPress sites. It has had over 135,500 downloads. There have not been many help requests from end-users. Reviews for T4B News Ticker – Responsive News Scroller, Slider, and Animations are very positive. Many of the users who left a review found this plugin to be excellent.
T4B News Ticker Premium is the paid version of the plugin that comes with more effects and ways to customize your website’s news ticker. Your ticker can be created instantly by using any of the 12 ready-made designs for you to choose from. There are seven more animation effects and more categories to display your ticker from such as RSS and JSON data.
You can create more than one news ticker and you may import and export a ticker between websites for added backup. An existing ticker can be copied and duplicated to avoid the hassle of creating a new one. Finally, you have the luxury of scrolling continuously and seamlessly without breaks in loops when you use the premium plugin.
Live News Lite
Live News Lite is a simple WordPress plugin that creates a news ticker for your site which you can use in multiple ways. Common use cases include showing the latest and relevant news, weather warnings, sports and election results, and more.
By default, you will see a featured news section in red and a sliding news area in black. This is the same format seen in well-known networks such as Fox News, CNN, and Sky News. You must take note however that with your content, you will have to add it manually on your own. There is no way to import data from a third-party source or provider.

This plugin was originally published by its developer in May of 2021. It is presently on version 1.10 and last saw a revision on May 11th, 2025. The most recent update runs on WordPress 6.8.8 and requires at least PHP 7.2 to work on your server. This plugin is presently functioning on over 2,000 WordPress sites. It has had over 14,640 downloads. There have not been many support requests from customers. Live News – Responsive News Ticker does not have any reviews. It’s not easy to tell what the WordPress community thinks about it yet.
Live News Pro is the paid and premium version of this WordPress news ticker plugin. Pro opens up a wide array of customization options and makes it easier for you to add content. In Pro, your news can be automatically generated based on your site posts, a chosen RSS feed, or even through tweets from a specific Twitter account.
Pro comes with 46 options for tickers, 4 options for featured news, 9 options for sliding news, and 4 general layout options. All elements are individually customizable with colors, fonts, and images. You can even control the speed or delay in which your ticker moves. Additionally, you can add links to the news, show the time with a built-in clock, and adjust margins and padding.
Simple Posts Ticker
Simple Posts Ticker is the final WordPress news ticker plugin we will be featuring. It adds a scrolling horizontal news ticker to your site without the hassle or any extra load that other plugins might require.
It may be added either via shortcode or PHP code. All settings can conveniently be adjusted and customized straight from the admin dashboard. The plugin comes with features that include a CSS ticker animation, and ways to select posts by their date, randomly, or by category. You have the option to show a label before the ticker as well as customize anything.
This plugin comes with support for multi-post, full RTL, custom post types, and localization. The plugin is compatible with any WordPress theme, but take note you must be using WordPress Version 4.6 or higher. So this isn’t a great option for legacy sites in desperate need of a WordPress upgrade.

Many of the end-users who left a review found this plugin to be worthwhile.
