How to Use White Label Preview Mode

White Label features an easy way to view any WordPress admin screen from the perspective of a user who is not a White Label Administrator. This is a great and quick way to test your White Label settings from your regular admin account.

The feature is easy to use. Once it has been enabled, a new menu item will appear in your admin bar. Clicking the menu item will open the current screen in a new tab and render it as if you were viewing it as an admin user who isn’t a White Label Administrator. It’s a nice way to preview your settings without having to manually switch between different accounts.

Enable White Label Preview Mode

You will need to enable the White Label Preview Mode option in your admin bar menu before you can begin. The opt-in checkbox for this feature is located in the General settings tab of White Label. You will find the checkbox in the White Label Administrators section of the screen.

Check the box, save your settings, and the White Label Preview Mode menu item will appear throughout the WordPress admin moving forward. Uncheck the box at any time to remove the menu item from your site.

Enter White Label Preview Mode

You’ll find a link in the admin bar of your WordPress site called WL Preview. This link is only visible when you are logged in as a White Label Administrator and you are not viewing any of White Label’s Settings screens.

Click the link, and the current screen will re-open in a new tab. This version of the admin screen will be shown to you as if you were no longer a White Label Administrator. It does not change your White Label Administrator status. This is simply a one-time presentation change.

When you’re in White Label Preview Mode, the link in the admin bar will appear differently. It will still say WL Preview but now be highlighted in blue.

Exit White Label Preview Mode

Exiting White Label Preview Mode is simple. If you want to remain on the same screen, simply click the WL Preview link in the admin bar. Or, if you’re done working with the screen, simply close the tab.
