The Lorem Ipsum plugin, by Webline, uses a settings screen to automatically generate a shortcode for you to produce placeholder content. You decide what the makeup of your content should be: length, HTML tags, etc. and then it randomly creates the text. Each time you use the plugin it offers a shortcode you can copy and paste into your content. A preview shows you exactly what you will be getting as well which is a nice touch. This plugin uses a third-party API from loripsum.net for the actual creation of the placeholder content. Even though it relies on an outside service you don’t need to have an API key or pay for API access.
