Our White Label plugin gives users the ability to remove WordPress dashboard widgets from their admin interfaces. This feature is available in the free version of the plugin. White Label Pro, our premium version of the plugin, has an improved version of this feature. In White Label Pro, users can individually remove WordPress dashboard widgets on a case-by-case basis.
To get started, download and install either version of the plugin. You can learn more about how to install White Label or how to install White Label Pro in our documentation.
In this article, we’ll discuss how to use our plugin to remove dashboard widgets. When you have either plugin installed, head over to the Dashboard tab. You’ll find the options to Remove Dashboard Widgets here.
Remove WordPress Dashboard Widgets with White Label
On the Dashboard tab, you’ll see two options when using the free version of White Label:
- Default Dashboard Widgets
- Third-Party Dashboard Widgets from Plugins and Themes
Default Dashboard Widgets
Selecting this option will remove all the default dashboard widgets WordPress automatically displays. This includes:
- Activity
- At a Glance
- Quick Draft
- Site Health Status
- WordPress Events and News
You cannot individually remove default widgets with the free version of White Label.
Third-Party Dashboard Widgets from Plugins and Themes
Finally, selecting this option will remove all the third-party WordPress dashboard widgets. This includes any widgets plugins or themes that force your users to see on their dashboard. Dashboard widgets are common with popular plugins such as Elementor, Yoast SEO, and Gravity Forms.
However, you cannot individually remove third-party widgets with the free version of White Label.
Remove WordPress Dashboard Widgets with White Label Pro
On the Dashboard tab of White Label Pro, your options under Remove Dashboard Widgets are expanded. You will be able to select and remove every widget individually. For example, here is a screenshot of what White Label Pro’s Remove Dashboard Widgets options look like. Our example site has multiple third-party plugins that are installed and active.
You can remove each widget on a case-by-case basis with White Label Pro. This is an ideal solution for sites with multiple plugins. Users find some plugin widgets to be particularly useful. Most importantly, being able to choose widgets leads to a better user experience for everyone.
Additional WordPress Dashboard Options
In addition, White Label offers more WordPress dashboard options than just the removal of widgets. You can learn more by reading our WordPress dashboard documentation.
